Enadia Way Technology Charter
Principal’s Message
March 31, 2020

Dear Enadia Families,

I hope that everyone is staying healthy during this very frightening time and Week 3 of the school closures. I understand that many of you have really suffered financially with the Safer at Home orders since so many of you work in the service-based industry. With the forced closing of all “non-essential” businesses, many of you who were unable to work from home are faced with a very uncertain future. The staff and I share our concerns for you and your family and pray that we can all return to normalcy before too long.

In the meantime, LAUSD continues to provide 2 free meals a day to anyone under 18 whose caregiver drives by the Columbus Middle School or Chatsworth High School “Grab and Go” locations. This service will continue even during spring break, M-F from 7am-10am.

The Enadia teachers are doing an incredible job of providing rigorous daily online instruction to our students. This week even our computer teacher, hula dancing teacher, and orchestra teacher are joining in on Zoom to provide weekly instruction to the students. It has been a learning curve for all of us to not only work from home, but to home school our own children at the same time. Believe me, I know how aggravating it can be, and I have all of the tools and know-how at my fingertips! The teachers and I are very sympathetic to the challenges many of you face with having multiple children at home and trying to provide support with limited technology and resources. We are trying to be very flexible in our scheduling as we know that most of you are also juggling working on top of everything!

Attached to this email is information for parents on free internet and hotspot services. You may contact sally.cope@lausd.net if you would like to request a free hotspot. Last Friday we loaned out 24 iPads to the families who heeded my request to reach out to the classroom teachers. We have no immediate plans to redistribute any iPads at this time due to safety risks with the Safer at Home orders. I will let the community know if/when is the next iPad distribution date after spring break.

Please visit our website at www.enadiaway.org to email any of us. The office staff are answering emails Monday-Friday for any questions, comments, or concerns you may share and forwarding them on to whoever can best help you. Simply email us under “Contact Us” and we will respond promptly. You can email me directly at haj7773@lausd.net.

This Friday our spring break begins. We will all return to online learning again on Monday, April 13. We all need a break from juggling school work on top of our regular work. We hope that you have a safe and healthy spring break!

Sincerely,

Principal Jeanne
